Description

I hate to do this, but I sure need some help with some questions. I am so not tech savvy and most folks know my motto of "one click"; meaning if it takes more than 1 click, it's too much trouble which used to be a joke but I'm really frustrated now. I bought a new PC, just an HP with Windows 7, quad, so that I could use the bigger textures and it has huge amount of RAM and should be much faster. I bought Poser 9, which I have now installed and uninstalled about 6 times because I CANNOT GET VIC TO LOAD. So what am I doing wrong? My PC has two program files", one is C: Program Files, one is Program Files (x86).......where is Poser supposed to go? I have installed and uninstalled Vic and all her stuff (Base, V.1, V.2, morphs, creater morphs, muscle morphs, all that stuff) about 6 times now because she does not show in Poser 9 no matter where I try to put her. Is anyone willing to help me out, please? Have others had these probs? I feel like an idiot. All I want to do is have a play and make something, but nothing I am doing to use Vic is working! I just do this for a hobby and fun but this is not so fun now. Please and thank you!

Program files (x86) comes up when I upload items, so that's the one I'd suggest. I've got poser6.... I can't help ya with poser9... and, I'm like you, I haven't read enough on this program to know what I'm doing.... good luck.

Hi Ruby: If you have a new PC, do you have a 64bit version of Windows 7? If so, install the Poser 64 bit version. If you still have a 32 bit version of windows, install the 32 bit version of Poser.Poser should ask you if you want to install the 32 bit version. If you have a 64 bit OS, you don't need the 32bit one. I doubt if you have the 32 bit. Poser should install automatically in the right folder. I use the Legacy Runtime option where the runtime is in the main Poser program where it always used to be, and then I put all my external runtimes on an external hard drive and link them to Poser. Hope this helps. Im me if you have any other questions. Hugz, Sherrie/ PS The two program directories are for 32 bit and 64 bit. The x86 one is for the 32bit programs.

Thank you Sherrie. At least now I know what the two Program Files are about. I will try reinstalling Poser and see what's what.

Another thought... Sometimes (instead of double-clicking to run an installer) you need to right-click and "Run as Administrator" for things to install properly on a windows 7 machine.
