Description

This boat is quite amazing yet appears nothing to look at. It was built in 1890 and named Baron Jersey. It sits on the quay side at St Aubin's Harbour in Jersey in the Channel Islands with photographers taking shots at its peeling paintwork. I went on a landscape photography workshop today and learnt about aperture, ISO, composition and so on. It was only for few hours but I do hope to learn more and already know how to take my camera off the automatic mode! Thank you for your continued support and comments Susan "Promenade des Anglais"thumb_2265414.jpg

Happy Birthday Susan. Workshops can be great fun and it sounds like you've already learned alot. I try to keep my camera off automatic all the time (maybe a photographer's ego thing)...but if I am in a big hurry to get a quick shot of something where the light is low, I don't feel bad about an ocassional return to auto...it is smarter then me when in a hurry:) Oh, and I like your interesting 121 year old boat...it actually looks to be in rather good condition for its age.

It displays the finest aspects of carvel planking, and has already lasted 121 years...tough to beat that! It also look quite seaworthy, ready to cast aside the sea and make good her course.
