From my story: Sevaril - "The Chronicles of Korr". Raised in a little village far north, Iphis Bliss leaves her home when her forster father dies...She decides to find out who she really is. Taught through her childhood until recently, by the Wise Traveller, by some called a wizard, Pentwahir and in practicing weaponry by the ghostly Vorn she is a formidable opponent both in knowledge from the books as well in fighting. And she is going to need everything she have been teached so far, and when entering the province capital Nedon in the empire of Korr, she had already killed a dozen of muggers, all trying to do the same that she instead has done with them... Iphis: Innkeper!..Who is this Alarik, he mentioned before he died?... The Inn keeper: ...He is..the secretary for the The High Counsel of Korr...These five nobles should actually govern the lands since the old king died three years ago without leaving a heir...but all know Alarik is the real man in charge in the affairs of state...he has his own guard and spies everywhere...Bribe and corruption has done him to what he is now...Maybe I should keep my mouth shut...his ears and eyes are never far away.. Iphis: This man here was a skilled assassin. Not like the others hired thugs...And he preferred to die rather than to talk... Voice from a dark far corner: You can't deal with all your enimies alone...and you have far more dangerous opponents than Alarik...So powerful that no one can imagine...And besides this is not just your own fight.... Iphis: You!?...You are "The Shadow Man" I have seen you a couple of times in my life...So you finally show up again...I have a lot of questions and want a lot of answers too.... "The Shadow Man": You have, and many answers but not all can be told....but first you have to leave this place, avoid the roads and wait with going to the capital, Korr....Even more fierce enimies closing in now...you need help...even I must say, you handle things well... Iphis: Help from you?... "The Shadow Man": And from my good friends... Iphis: And I should trust you?.. "The Shadow Man": You don't have other friends right now?... Iphis: ..You're right...you saved my life once, many years ago*.... *A reconstructed scene where Iphis met Nightshade Woodborn, the crowns ranger in the north. He saved Iphis from drowning when she was only six but now she is twenty and both a strong and beautiful woman with great confidence. The plot unveils during the story and journey but every answer raises new questions.
