Description

Peaking out is the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff. Since opening in June 1999, the Millennium Stadium has welcomed, on average, over 1.3 million visitors per year. Sporting the first fully-retractable roof in the UK, the venue is at the leading edge as a multi-purpose, multi-faceted event venue. Millennium Stadium will also play its part in the London 2012 Olympics as a host venue for the football competition. Do have a good week, Clive

And The Millennium Stadium is the only only one of the 'showcase Millennium constructions (The Dome etc being the others..)that actually worked..! The rest ended up empty or 'wobbled' (see the famous wobbling Millennium Bridge incident!) So, well done Cardiff! And well done you Clive, good shot.. Rob

Striking contrasts. Like it Clive...these very expensive structures are the in thing for American football...but the TV revenues are so huge that team owners and their supporting cities seem to continue to be able to build more.
