There was one obstacle left, breaching the doors and entering the Temple of Lolth, where The Three were no doubt furiously laboring to complete the ceremonies and magics that would transform Imlinthiir, Opal’s daughter, into the very embodiment of the Qual’ValSharress. The Raptors didn’t know how much time they had left. Miles above, on the surface, it was no doubt growing late. The afternoon would soon fade and twilight would come. The fading of the reddish purple glow of the energy absorbing fungus on the ceilings of the chambers they were traversing told them that much. If they couldn’t stop the ceremony, that twilight would bring something much darker than simply night,… Lolth would have been fully reborn.

Now, however, Delvinia Fey had arrayed her best and toughest to hold the gates into the hollowed out stalagmite that served as this remote temple, a hidden spot behind the lair of Krahgogorrex, the first and most powerful Draknid. Here, the Egg of Lolth would be opened and its magics used to transform Opal’s daughter into the Spider Queen. To get in there and stop it, the Raptors would have to make it through two of Delvinia’s best. One was the prototype for Shanzilla Belabra, a half failed experiment in combining a living Drow and a golem. Though Commander Shyrimysk was a holy terror on the battlefield, she had lost most of her magic when she became half Drow and half clockwork terror. The real problem to worry about was the quiet, lovely, and too seductive Commander Rhallakina Terristin, one of Lolth’s few WarPriestesses.

Commander Rhallakin had the magical powers of a High Priestess, as well as the fighting skills of a veteran warrior. In the years since Lolth’s second death, she kept her faith and soldiered on, hiding out in the Western UnderDark, preying on the Splinter Kingdom, killing priests of Treallar and spies of the Drovikallum, and never once doubting that her Queen would be reborn yet again. Now it was she and her matched Drow adamant broadswords that stood against the Raptors. They would pay with their lives for this blasphemy,… and she was just the one to collect the fee.
