Description

This is a Willet on Naples Beach, Florida. It is a larger member of the sandpiper family. They are about 15 inches (38cm) long and about the same for wingspan. I had fun with this guy. I had picked the upper left shot as a solo post but had to add lower left because of the way he watched me. The wind caught him in the lower right and the upper right flyby was critical for identification. I also liked the sea foam in the lower two shots. Great clarity and poses in these shots of the handsome Willet, a variety of avian I never heard of before, Dana. I like its wing markings.
