Description


This was taken earlier this year at the ships dry dock in Bristol where she was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in the 1800's. There is a great deal of information 'on line' if you care to look but she was the first iron clad ever built and was driven by steam and also had sail.

Not quite. This was a commercial vessel, not an ironclad which would be a warship. I believe she holds the title as first iron-hulled commercial steamer. Not something to be sneezed at. Amazing survivor and restoration.
