Description

Every fishing village had at the beginning of 1900 until 1960 its own tar or bark pots. For fishing gear would not rot, they were made resistant by tar or bark. The Nets were dipped or pulled through the hot tar. The Spit Tar Pot was in use from 1900 to 1965 "Tjaeregryden" at Odden asphalting was done with the aim of impregnation of nets and ropes of natural materials. Some of the materials you can still find in this place, as you se in these shots. I discovered that there was much more than I first thought. Now it almost looks like a part of the brink, but you also see the asphalt lying there even today and will probably stay there hundreds of years ahead. I hope you find this interesting and please ZOOM to see the details. Wish you all a beautiful day/evening. We had lovely sun today. :) Thank you so much for viewing, commenting and fav to my previous post. It is highly appreciated :)

Fantastic shots and wonderful information; I particularly like the shot of the tar impregnated netting, abandoned for whatever reason and now home to a nice moss colony! The colors and shapes are amazing here, and I love this glimpse into something that, by Chicago standards, is distinctly not local. Brilliant work.
