Description

I have captured this gorgeous little fellow at the Umgeni Bird Sanctuary in Durban, South Africa. He was a real show stealer. I'm not sure what kind of owl this is but I'm sure Danny will be able to enlighten us! He is real tiny! I have learned on this day that owls with orange eyes like this one hunt during dusk and dawn, owls with yellow eyes hunt during the day and owls with dark eyes hunt at night... Some useless / useful trivia... depending on which side of conservation you are. For me this was fascinating as I always thought that all owls hunt at night! I thought the same Carin the all owls hunt at night :-D WOW! We learn every day. and I learned also, that you are a great Photographer, but that is years ago and this little owl is so cute.
