Description

Situated at Queen's Square, completed in 1869, one of the best known landmarks of Belfast. As a result of being built on wooden piles on marshy, reclaimed land around the River Farset, the top of the tower leans four feet off the perpendicular. Amazing how much one learns about something months after seeing and photographing it! Clive

Stunning capture Clive. Nice blue sky in this capture. The traffic light and person walking on the side walk add something extra to this capture. I can see lens distortion here. The building to the right in thjis capture has a bit of a lean to it. God Bless.

What a great shot of this beautiful tower! It looks straight here, funny how these things happen, eh? I remember thinking it was just me thinking that the spire in Chesterfield looked like it was crooked, only to find out years later that it really is tilted.

I know exactly what you mean! I get something ready to post and think, "maybe someone would like to know more about this," and off I go to do research! This is a superb image. I love that stonework! No visible tilt, but I'll take your word for it.
