Description

This pretty little butterfly has a wingspan of about 3 inches (7.5 cm). I could not find an ID for it. It is shaped like a longwing? Taken with my trusty old Minolta. Worth a zoom! I think that it is one of the longwing (heliconia).I don't recall the name of this specific one,but I believe that they are native to Central and south America.A fine shot.

A super capture of this beautiful butterfly, with its wonderful markings showing so well. It has come out yellow and brown on my monitor but it still looks fantastic.

Resembles a Monarch. Compared to the surrounding foliage, if you hadn't said the colors on the butterfly were black and green, I would have said black and yellow, Dana. Excellent capture, my friend.
