Description

I took this last February in Wyoming. Wolves had taken a lone elk the night before and left the carcass after eating their fill. This coyote was taking advantage of the free meal the next day. A park ranger told me the location of the kill and explained that a local resident had witnessed the actual take down and had it on video. I sure would like to have been there to photo that action. Outstanding moment and capture. I have seen this in the Sonoran Desert but I've never had a camera with me.

That is a great shot! Hope you used your zoom, I would think they may be a bit aggressive while eating. Well captured.

Wonderful job. When we lived in Colorado, my little brother always wanted to shoot coyotes. One day we were driving in the mountains and he stops and grabs his gun and runs to the side of the road to shoot a coyote he sees in the field. I pick up the binoculars and before he can get a shot off, I tell him the "coyote" is some rancher's dog. I could just see him with "Benji" mounted on the wall in his living room. I hope you have bear repellent.
