Dog are so much more pragmatic than humans about death. Buster was SO pleased when Hetty died: he sniffed at the body, then when we got home he went "HOORAY, the bitch is dead and I'm in charge!"

Dogs are very good at reading and picking up on our emotions. Its great they are trying to cheer you up. LOL Jasmine she cant think of anything better than to chew on an old sock. :) She probably wonders why you are not excited to get this gift from the heart. :) LOL i laughed at Andrea's comment about Buster.

They are so sweet Barbara, and trust me they do know you are hurting and are doing their best to be there for you. I'm sure they are sad also and this is when you all really need each other. May God bless and watch over all of you during this time.

Life goes on and sometimes it is very sad but I believe they feel your misfortune and not their presence as a sister. ((5 + +)) La vie continue et c'est bien triste des fois mais je croie qu'ils ressente ton malheur et la non presence de leur soeur comme . ((5++))

I love Jasmine's expression. "Here you go. This sock surely makes you feel better?" My cats don't bring me things when I'm sad, which is good since they tend to bring things like dead birds, but they do stay near me, like furry little shadows. Beautiful and sweet images.

Jasmine looks like she's offering you her very bestest purloined sock .. and yes, they DO know how sad we are, and also, they get depresses when they lose someone they love. My boys, especially Murphy, went into some dark days after Gracie Anne died. Murphy especially began to get very clingy, I think to offer me comfort and gain some himself. Bless the girls, they know that they shouldn't have sticks and stones, but they love sticks .. and stones .. and socks .. so that's what they think to offer you, those forbidden treasures .. sigh.
