Description

Several weeks ago my Wife and I took our Grandchildren for a walk down by the river. As we walked, my Grandson walked out in front of us and I captured Him as He crossed this bridge over the river. As I looked at this photo I thought of him moving into Boyhood as he crossed the river, for it was his 5th Birthday. He no longer was a toddler as He is now old enough to go to school. As I worry what the future holds for Him, I worry about all our youth and what legacy we leave for them. Thanks for stopping by.

It is a historical moment that you have captured. He won't understand it now but he will in years to come. Fantastic photo and narrative. I love it!

You have a perfectly good reason to worry; with the way, where the economy of the world is heading and plenty more other good reasons - but don't let those Turkeys get you - enjoy the moment and you seem to do so, the proof is in this lovely capture Bob, BB

This is a wonderful photo by itself! But your words add so much more meaning to it!

Everything repeats. I wonder if you see yourself in your grandson. This could just as easily be you crossing the river from dependency to independence. Your image and words are rich with symbolism. If the day ever comes when those who run the world care more for their children and grandchildren than they do for money and power then we will have meaningful change.

Neat sybolism, reminds me of when I first started school and I used cross a brigde just like this one. It was great fun in Winter, getting a run up and seeing how far I could slide across in my school shoes ! Nicely captured and a BIG THANX for the Burfday wishes ! ~Cheers~

I think this image is a very special one indeed! You are very right to see this as the passage into boyhood as you say.... what a special moment for your Grandson to take the lead and the become a leader of the "pack". He seems so certain as to which direction he's going in.... very special, with a lovely mood and presentation!

I worry about overused natural resources, especially water, but humanity has always been resourceful when necessary. Hopefully that will continue to be the case. Beautiful and poignant image! He looks so small, and yet there is a great sense of striding into the future here too. Beautiful composition, colors, and light. I love the shadows of the bridge.
