Description

"Frozen Fruit" The berries [fruit] of our [flowering] Indian Summer Crabapple Tree are sheathed in a coating of ice from the storm. Fortunately, this variety of tree is very hardy. We completly lost one large tree and even now, sometime later, have damaged limbs from the tops of our larger trees fall after a windy Kansas day. Most of our twenty-two backyard trees range from 25-60 feet. This is the last in the set of four icestorm pictures I plan on posting. I sincerely hope you have enjoyed seeing Nature's ice sculptures from my yard. Thank you for all the positive comments you made on the other three images. BTW: I have a new self protrait on my artist's page.

Very nice capture and my favorite in the series so far. There is nothing more beautiful than these ice sculptures created by nature.

that is one frozen tree..your area is worse than mine at the moment in terms of wintery weather..I have a idea, lets cut the cherries from the tree and heat it up to eat it (just kidding) nice shot.

How fascinating! The ice-encased fruit is beautiful, and the whole image shimmers. You've got me reaching for a sweater! LOL! Wonderful shot. (ps - I sent you a note via site mail.)

I have heard before that fruit growers in Florida facing freezing weather will actually spray water on the fruit still on the tree with water so the ice coating will protect against the fruit from freezing I enjoy seeing trees coated with ice.I hope we have at least once this winter
