Description

(Please see full-size, it really isn't much small...) I've been absent for my hands & back, which I've had treatments for...it's not serious, just wildly inconvenient, as I'm told to avoid writing & drawing as much as possible. That's why I've commented so little. In dedis, I'll have to use older images for awhile, because I can't create new ones yet...But I'll be commenting in spurts in the coming weeks, and I wanted you to know I've seen everything, and it's been a gift. What do I say for a friend who is so dear & precious? "Galaxy" has a personal meaning when I think of Ana (anaber, gallery here), because those of you who know her know she shines like one; and if I could express the ways she does in my life, I'd be here for days. This is just a wave---Lake Michigan on an ornery day---but it so-looked like a super nova, I just had to dedicate it to Ana. She is the most wondrous source of light & so much inspiration, and no matter how much she's dealing with, she's always there, always asking how you are, always touching & reaching out all the way from another continent. I can't put into words how dear she's been to me. And that doesn't mention her art---her 'doodles' are better than all my paintings, and her paintings, drawings, etc: Those of us who love her work really love her work, it's so touching, so inward, so beautiful. I just want to tell her that her friendship has been a gift from above, and I wish her all the blessings in the world, and that light fall on her again & again in the days & years to come. You're a Jewel, Ana, and I wish you a blessed & wonderful birthday,
with all my love and blessings, Mark

Mark, it is hard to imagine a better way to start the day than with a trip to your gallery. Glad you suggested the large view as it really does bring out all the fine details in this capture. This dedi to your friend warmed my heart as I could literally feel the love coming from your words. Your comparison of her to a galaxy was very moving, and a caring description only you could have come up with. So sorry to hear about the problems with your back and hands, and I'll keep you in my prayers that God will touch you and you can feel better soon. I can only imagine what a difficult time this must be for you as someone as creative as yourself needs to be able to express himself as you fo through your lovely photos, art, and moving thoughts.

Ahhhhh, a crashing wave showering water droplets in every direction and casting light in that same liquid way. Beautifully captured and presented. Did you get wet in the process of taking this? If so, you were simply being baptised with Michigan Lake water to give you a real feel for your work:) Super dedi for Ana...although I don't know her, I'll make a point of visiting her gallery and many thanks for the link.

Hellooooo Mark:))))))))))! I Hope you feel better, first of all !! Now, thank you! Thank you very much! I have no words for your words!! I feel just very moved and you are a wonderful friend and you deserve it all back to you:)Thank you sooo much:))))))))))) Well, well:)!!! I adore the sea and the waves. I imagine the risk you ran, to capture this wonder, lol! This wave is something to make us faint!!!! Is wild and so powerful ! Almost can hear the sound. It is amazing! When i see this in real, what is rare..but when i saw them...i always saw one big hand with long fingers...grabbing all, into the dark cave they make inside themselves and then, I remember stories of waves that ate boats and so on...and all is so emotional and my imagination dont stop.... I adore them, but i respect them very much!! This one, is one of them, Mark, and it is a wonder...she has like an embroidery in the surface and you captured it wonderfully as always!!!All is so detailled!!Very special indeed! Is a wonderful gift:) You couldnt choose better, Mark:)Thank you very, very much:)))

An incredible capture of this marvellous wave and the details show up so well in the larger image. It looks as though your lake was having a bad day and lashing out at everyone. A good job the wall keeps her contained a little. A wonderful gift for Ana. I hope your hands and back heal soon and you can feel back to normal. You have had a traumatic year with one thing and another.

Splendid capture of this tumultuous display of froth and water, churning and rolling as if in anger. So, here I am, after participating in the photography section of Renderosity since May of 2006, and during that time never ever having heard of Ana, aka anaber. Always on the outside looking in. And, yes, a stellar BD dedication to your friend, Mark.

Very moving dedication and of course it doesn't surprise me you would see a Universe inside a wave. You have a vision that is infinite. Be well, dear Mark. CC

Ah, this is marvelous! Both the image and the dedication. And thank you also for the link. Anna's gallery is rich and full of delightful wonders. I like her beautiful description of a wave in her comment, the big hand with the long fingers. I see those curling fingers here, in your powerful capture of this wave. I like the way that waves come in at angles as if building up for the punch. I love the detail you captured here! The squiggly lines, dark matter, and light! Your image and your words are most beautiful. A belated happy birthday to Ana!

It took me long enough to get here:-) This is my fav of all your recent images Mark. Stunning in its beauty, I can hear the roar of ocean waves long gone from my childhood, the conch shape reminds me of all the shells we collected and all I listened to as a child and an adult. I still have one thats about 6" wide at the top and about 8" long. Everytime I touch it I am reminded of all those holidays at the ocean (Ocean Shores, Grays Harbor, Washington) and this reminds me of those times. It also brings to mind 'the calm before the storm', how we tend to be caught up in the serenity of a moment and neglect to see the warning signs which in some cases is a good thing but not in most. Anyway it speaks loud and strong to me and I thank you for sharing it. I hope this finds you feeling well and that the new year is treating you well. I will answer you asap, not feeling well and the tiredness has caught up so I am resting. Wishing you much love and peace!
