Description
December 7th, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked... It was before my time, but still History called me to look back because of it's 70th Anniversary.
As I looked through LIFE's photos, I came across an image I hadn't seen before. It was of Women with a Water Hose - them all working together from different races and regions - on a day when the world needed to get along - it grabbed my attention so much I had to make a memorial... To me, this picture of these women mean just as much if not more than the picture of the army men standing up the flag - which, my best friends Uncle was one of those men.... Here's to PEACE and the world coming together like these women... In hard Economic times we all need to be there for each other... and let's pray this madness never happens again.

It was before my time. My mother says were she was it was on Dec. 8 in the Philippines. She spent the war in a Japanese prison camp till she was liberated by the Americans. At the end time were really rough and they ate morning glory leaves, banana peels and only got 3 sheets a day for the restroom.
