Description
After the musing, Meadow, Jasmine & Buck set off with heavy hearts. Although they couldn't see Zlata & Mr. Snowman they were sure they were on the right track.
"Did you hear that" asked Jasmine as she stopped in her tracks.
"What" replied Meadow, nearly bumping into Jasmine.
"Oooh, maybe I did" said Buck.
"Its coming from over there" said Jasmine looking towards a clearing.
The girls started to walk cautiously towards where they thought the familiar noise was coming from.
"I don't want to come with you, I will wait here" mumbled Buck.
So the girls carried on.
WOOF, WOOF.
"There it is" both girls said in unison.
"I heard it too, this time" said Meadow
As they went forward the noise got louder.
WOOF, WOOF, WOOF.
The girls came through the trees & into a mist.
"I don't believe this" said Jasmine stopping suddenly.
There infront of them surrounded by the mist was Carla 'B'.
"What on earth, we are imagining things" the girls chimed up.
"No, I am here, I just wanted to let you know I am fine. I have met up with everyone at Rainbow Bridge. I wanted to let you know, because I loved Christmas so much I want you to enjoy & Jasmine I am sure you could take over from me if you tried. Meadow, no disrespect but I honestly don't think you have it in you, you are too horizontal"
This made the girls chuckle.
"I took over from Hester, who is fine by the way, so too are all the others. I know it is hard but I will be with you, rest assured"
Suddenly Carla 'B' faded away.
"Did we just witness that?" asked Meadow.
"Or did we imagine it, because we were thinking about Carla 'B'? asked Jasmine with a teary voice.
"Maybe", muttered Meadow.
With that both girls, turned very slowly & went back to Buck.
"You knew, didn't you Buck?" they asked
Buck just stood & set off back to the path & the girls followed.
Fat Robin had kept a watch over them, he knew these things happened & unlike the girls wasn't at all surprised.
Sorry if this seems maudling but I am trying to come to terms with not having Carla 'B' here.

Barbara, you did a very nice job on this moving and heart warming story my friend. This is a beautiful way to express what you and your fur babies are going through during this holiday season. May God bless and watch over you all during this time. If you have a chance to read a book called (Rescuing Sprite) it might also be helpful, and is very inspiring.

I love this Barbara! Awesome story indeed, coupled with a stunning image. You have absolutly nothing to appologize for here Barbara. Your story line here including CarlaB and a way to help move past the hurt is a marvelous way of dealing with the incredible hurt that happened especially at such a wonderful season.

Forgetting is a big word but it is impossible to compensate for the evil of our love. But one thing is certain where it is .. The reign of his love continues and all the passions of his time on earth will restore the warmth of its needs.

This was a tear jerker for me Barbara. I understand why you wrote this and I hope that it worked for you as well as it worked for me. This is a wonderful way to move the healing process along. Carla ‘B’ will always be in our hearts and mind. God bless and stay well my friend. A special soft woof and a slow wag of the tail for you.

Think you are coming to terms well and if a short story involving all your girls helps...this is the time of the years for miracles:)

Oh Barb, Now I really do those tissues! You know, they really are there, I've told you my experiences with Gracie Anne .. so even though it's a story here, it really can be so. Carla B will ALWAYS be with you. She will be there at Christmas .. and all the time. Such a beautiful, beautiful work this is, and the story too. Not at all maudlin, just very heart touching. Art is a wonderful way to work through our sorrows, and you are doing it so beautifully.
