They look like they are reaching out to each other. This reminds me of the old Japanese legend of Jo and Uba, an old man and old woman, who loved each other so much that they were turned into trees growing next to each other so they could be together forever. Wonderful image.

The trees tell their stories in a look my friend. I love watching the ribs as their wisdom.
