Description
Whew, no water! After the ocean water induced 28+ hour render time of "Nice Day..." it was a pleasure to have something that rendered in under 5 hours. Relative "instant gratification". Both excellent models are from the factories of Neiwil...what is it that you call someone who makes weapons for both sides? Must be in the same vein that you call someone who mangles and destroys equipment on both sides (*ahem). Sorry bout mangling the 190, Neil...but I did leave the P-51 intact.
It's pretty intense to realize that some of these dogfights were in the midst of flack as well as the fire of an enemy's guns...double jeopardy. (The quote is pleasurably remembered from "The Big Lebowski" Sam Eliot drawls "Well, sometimes you eat the "bar" and sometimes the "bar" eats you."...truer words were never spoken.)

"Bar BBQ"...man you are getting sneeky! look what you did to my plane, but how can I be mad when it's in such a good cause, and you write such nice things :-) Excellent render, and I agree on the flak situation, imagine surviving the dogfight only to get taken out by your own AckAck....bummer. "what is it that you call someone who makes weapons for both sides?".......very, very wealthy :-) (or in my case, just very very busy!)

Nicely done, especially on the explosions.

Outstanding work. Awesome fx.

Excellent action scene.

Excellent image Bill that captures what close combat must have felt like in those days. No 'fire and forget' there must have been mixed emotions seeing another human being go down in flames knowing it was either 'you' or 'him'. Stunning postwork and yep, less render time. Top marks again :)

Always being one with a liking for German planes (always have), I would have done this the other way around, but not looking as good! LOL I have both these and they are GREAT! Hats off to Neil and you, WELL done.. Rob

Oh that's fine action in the sky. Are the explosions and smoke made in Vue?

Hey guy GREAT stuff! I got questions.. You use VUE correct? Are you doing the modeling and texturing of these aircraft?. Have you ever Animated any of these scenes? Can we see them. Years ago I did a little project thats not very professional as I had no idea what I was doing BUT there are parts I am still proud of... One about the 8th airforce you may like.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcnlyD7QNU4 I am very proud of the flak hits and the Ball turret! Your images have a stylist feel/look i like a lot!
