Description

Title: Merry Christmas After a couple of decision fatigues, I finally decided to go for it and join Andrew Price's Blender Guru competition, for the first time! The theme for this month is 'Christmas.' I originally opt for a linear merry- and warm-themed concept, but somehow the thought of a Christmas spent in desolation and longing suddenly struck me. I am, for one, not promoting sad emotions, but instead I want to share with everybody the feeling of sadness, longing, apathy, anticipation, joy, hope, and eventually blissful happiness. On the other hand, this was one of the most technically challenging pieces I have ever worked on, specifically on the modeling and lighting aspects. Modeling, texturing, rigging, scene composition, and node compositing: Blender Shading and lighting: Cycles Post: GIMP Project duration: approximately 60 hours Merry christmas! :) -Reyn

It is very hard work on the emotional point but many have had this idea of life bring us trials and often too difficult to get through without losing the presence of the value of a life There are so many evils in this world and not just in prisons .... On the street and in several families of cruel instincts prepare. Peace to the souls in tears ((5 + +)) It is very hard work on the emotional point but many have had this idea of life bring us trials and often too difficult to get through without losing the presence of the value of a life There are so many evils in this world and not just in prisons .... Ah,Christmas with Martha Stewart and Bernie Madoff... On a serious note, I applaud the technical work you've produced. My first foray into 3D was with Blender. I wasn't terribly successful, as I use DAZ now :-D Cheers, with a bottle of Two Buck Chuck SBT

Very impressive Cycles Blender render! You're right this is a very depressing scene - one that evokes a deep subconscious call for the ultimate truth! Are we all living in a virtual jail cell with the daunting realization that the only way out is a final dance performed at the end of a rope! This is way better than my "Christmas Crunch" composition I did a few back! thecytron

The amount of work you put into this is obvious. I like the theme and the extreme your execution took it to. I think the writing would have been more realistic if the writing on the wall had been actually hand written and less uniform in opacity and smoothness. I like the bright and colorful sky through the window and the butterflies.

Wow - that is fantastic texturing and layout! (Depressing in an artful sort of way, but still fantastic!)

Wonderfully done, even though it's not a place I like to go, too close to home. Still, kudos and best of luck.
