Description

I've been away from the galleries for a while trying to learn Poser (a major pain). I've been working on a birthday card for a friend of mine. He will be 63 in two weeks and he hates it. I have set myself the task of convincing him that he can still look forward to the future. For all you people of a certain age who look back on their lives with bemusement or horror and wonder how it all came to this. And for those who wake up with more aches and pains than they remember, I commend to you the thoughts of one Mark Twain who once said: "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. And for you young ones who are laughing at all the old people because, you know, that will never happen to you...SHADDAP!! Oh yeah, and get off my lawn!

I was in the car once with my nieces and mentioned a car license I had that was easy to remember, KGB. There was a long silence and then, "What's KGB?" "Come on girls, haven't you ever watched James Bond?" Obviously not. The joys of total incomprehension between generations. Great card and poser work. The only thing I know about poser is that it's not very easy. You seem to be catching on really well. And a Mark Twain quote is always a bonus. Happy birthday to your friend. I hope his day exceeds his expectations.

Great card for your friend!! My son did not believe me when I tell him that there was a time when there were no remote controls for TV.

Oh lordy, we've all got a million stories just like this, don't we? LOL! A friend of mine came up to me one day, ashen-faced, and told me he'd just been at the music store where he had overheard two teenage girls discovering for the first time that Paul McCartney had been in a band before "Wings." That must have been ten or fifteen years ago. Time marches on! Everyone's generational memories fade into history at some point. Have your friend call Bill if he thinks his life is over at 63! LOL! Good work with Poser! It's been really nice knowing you ... I expect we won't be seeing much of you any more! The 3-D stuff can be totally addicting. Pop in once in a while and say "hey," okay? :)

Brilliant! I have this sort of conversation quite often with my lodgers. (It is a revelation to me that Poser doesn't almost OBLIGE the user to make images of stunning vulgarity! I looked at the gallery when I first joined and was appalled.)

Old age is just a given master! In reality, it 's age that you feel you have! Personally I'm a big guy, the chronological age says otherwise, but I'm not listening! Mark I think you're good use of Poser started a program that I think some difficulty (I yìusato only version 1 year ago), but I try very much!

Only someone who is preoccupied with contemporary remains, even in the heart young. Otherwise you live now only in memory. Life offers much more. My Daddy has started with 80 years to learn computer and was amazed by the global communication without phone and post it, he regretted, not having started earlier so. A nice birthday greetings from Germany, from July to your friends.

You did really well so far Mark, not bad for a beginner - just imagine this, after this new hobby - you may even have a new vocation, designing B/day cards! BB a proverb: 'Man kann das Leben rueckwaerts verstehen, aber man muss es vorwaerts leben! and another one: 'Remember, growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional!

LOL, Excellent and funny! A very wise man, Mark Twain. I'm very impressed with your Poser work. I can't ever get the hang of that crazy program. I think you did a really superb job. I never plan to grow up or old. :)
