Description

when your world gets smaller every day? Just thinking about all the petty squabbles between the countries on the climate conference, whereas those, who don't have a voice there and are just looking for survival and not for short sighted economic gain will have to live with a sad future... Thanks for looking and for all the comments and favs on my last upload :) Credits: polar bear from DAZ

Beautiful and lonely looking image. It is sad. I worked for a science group in the 90s that did field research and sampling in all the worlds oceans and I participated in three voyages. Long story short. All the info gathered was compared to the info gathered from a similar project in the 70s. They concluded undeniably that the mean temperature of the Earth was rising and CO2 and other gasses were building up in the atmosphere and indeed the rapidity of this has been enhanced by human consumption and industrialization. When they gave their report to the powers that be in Washington, it was accepted, but then they were promptly thanked and told they can leave now. What a slap in the face after all that research and money spent. I have no faith whatsoever that any government or commitee will step up to curtail any added damage. This really leaves us with; what do we do next? In a matter of 50 years and probably less, more and more people are going to be displaced that live in coastal and low lying areas around the world. Where will they go? The weather is going to change drastically and the growth of crops and the raising of livestock is going to become a huge challenge. What will we do? Regardless of the cause, we now should be preparing for the worst and hope for the best. I'm thoroughly disapointed in my own government. The opposing parties want nothing more than to blame and hurt the other rather than sucking it up and doing what needs to be done. Or at least researching what needs to be done. Well sorry for the rant and soapbox speech. This image, indeed, was captivating and inspiring enough to make me shout, so that's a good thing. Beautifully done.

Very well done...excellent scene and commentary of world events.I,for one, think it's about time we all realized that the outcome of ignorance will affect us all,and at this point there is nowhere to go as an alternative.Time to join forces and work to save what's left!
