Description

Port Phillip Bay. Victoria Australia. It was amazing just how quickly it went pitch dark after I took this photo. I'm glad I clicked the shutter when I did! The little chunk out of the sun is actually the funnel of a passing ship, slipping away into the night. I waited and waited for it to 'eclipse' the sun, but by the time it did it was almost dark. Best viewed zoomed.

A stunning shot. Truly stunning. There are a few strange things about the physics of light at sunset. I could go into details about them and how the sun is not where you think it is etc, but frankly what's important....is the beauty.
