Description

Having seen anahata.c's birthday dedication and description of Corey's lightning quick editing style, I recalled this image of him doing just that on this year's Chicago get together. Thanks for the reminder! : )

Oh, this is super! I'm a far bigger science fiction nerd than I should admit to being, but hey...I'm going to admit to a rather...um...frightening Sci-Fi moment. It occurred in the original Battlestar Galactica...you know: the Star Wars riff planned by TV executives in order to cash in on the Space Opera theme? Well, anyway, in a particular "pivotal" episode, our "ragtag fugitive fleet" encountered beings of light...they flew around in a rather swanky starship (a bit like abstract skyscrapers) and well...essentially, they might have been angels. The thing is, Everything was pure white, except for a few black highlights such as shoe soles and such...and well...I thought of that when I saw this image! I had no idea Corey had access to that 1979-swanky "angel ship" and their distinct taste for...well...for white. (Imagine their laundry costs!) Anyway: This is one of those brilliant shots that captures so much of that day. Your time here in Chicago was far too short, but hey...that just means we have to plan another get-together (When time permits!) and I look forward to that! I love the way you've captured so familiar a scene for me...in fact, I saw him doing this a few hours ago, only he was wearing different, non-IR colors...and a hat...okay, and he had a bag with DVDs in it as we'd gone DVD hunting...but still...it's nearly the same as what I saw earlier today. This is gorgeous work. I can't tell if it's IR, black and white, or black and white IR...it's all of those things and it works so marvelously. And it reminds me: I should have gotten Corey a pair of white pants for his birthday... This is brilliant!

What a wonderful shot of Corey, doing what he does. Seeing him in IR really IS like seeing one of Chip's angels! The contrasts are great. You do stuff with IR that just blows me away, and I love this image! Not only is it a picture of one of my all-time-ever favorite people, but your photographic talent is stunning.

Altogether fitting and proper. lol. I envy Corey's ability to make decisions. My technique is much more cumbersome...throw nothing away and shoot 5-10-15 shots of something to be able to choose which one I want later. You've again captured Corey in a very characteristic pose that I will long remember from our October weekend. Well done.

Great shot - probably a pose many of use have assumed during our photo-journeys. I do have to admit, though I'm much more like Bill (bmac62) than Corey when doing an ad hoc edit session.
