I agree, the glowing horizon is very nice. You did a good job on the plant, I knew it was Mars without even reading the title. I think, from terms of an illustration, though, that it might look a little more pleasing if the ship were not dead center in the image; things tend to look a little more interesting when they are slightly off center. I would also consider adjusting the angle of the ship, as it looks like it's leaving mars, rather than arriving, which is implied by the title of the image. Of course, I'm just nitpicking. I really like the ship design, and you did a really clean job of compositing it into the image. I also like the restrained thruster spray. All in all, nicely done!
