Description

The white tiger is a recessive mutant of the Bengal tiger. Compared to normal coloured tigers without the white gene, white tigers tend to be larger, both at birth and as fully grown adults. A white tiger's pale coloration is caused by the presence of a recessive gene. Another genetic characteristic makes the stripes of the tiger very pale; white tigers of this type are called snow-white or "pure white". White tigers do not constitute a separate subspecies of their own and can breed with orange ones. --Wikipedia
