Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.

I hear Aaron Copeland when I see this image, which is rather odd, since I'm not listening to Aaron Copeland (yet!) This image has that sense of grandeur, however, and so I can see how my mind went off on that artistic tangent. I really love that foreground tree (off to the right, rather than dead center.) It makes such a gorgeous silhouette, and the black and white of this shot makes it timeless. The land looks nice and rugged: as if really interesting (and probably venomous) creatures might be at home there. For me that's a comfort as it means that there will always be things to photograph as they entertain you with their antics. And if they're venomous (do venomous things even live there?) then just photograph them from a long way away! This is quite a cool shot!

Looks nice in B&W, nice shot! (In response to your comment, it would be interesting to see flocks of Tundra Swans. They overfly Alberta to nest far north of here, so we are very lucky to see them once in a while and many people think they are Trumpeter Swans, never seeing the little yellow patches.)

Oh, this is so beautiful and mysterious looking with the shadows. Looks almost like an infrared photo. The grass and bushes look like they have frost on them. Interesting framing - the tree to the right, the small cliff to the left and the rugged background with the valley in front. Amazing what the deletion of color can do for a picture! This is a really interesting photo - did you convert from color or is this originally black/white film? Keep up the good work! :-)

The early morning sun really brings out the crisp silhouetting in this stellar pic of Smith Rock State Park, Bill. Just bright enough to see much of the foliage detail. And I thought I was the only one who got up early in the AM for a picture shoot.
