I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Nicely done for 40 minutes work...like the fire effects and overall scene!

Cool! I think your use of Photoshoped clouds for the reentry flames really adds to the image.

Hmm...not bad at all for 40 minutes I sez! The only thing I can suggest is study re-entry images. nasa or jpl has to have a bunch of stuff like that I'm sure. I'd really not like landing anywhere in that tin can, that's gotta be hard on the spine!

Outstanding. That's the only word I can use to describe this image. What a re-entry shot it is.

You can be proud, making this in 40 minutes, I find it really good! The only detail that I would criticize is the background, with those clouds looking a bit flat. But I don't know Bryce, so I can't say what it can do...

Well, it looks pretty darn good to me for 40 minutes' work, Mike! It takes me 40 minutes to just figure out which sky to use! LOL!

Fantastic work.

Counting down. All functions nominal. All functions optimal. Counting down. The center holds. The falcon hears the falconer. Infrastructure, check. Wetware, check. Everyone hang on to the life bar, please... Okay, I couldn't resist quoting one of the basestar hybrids from my much-beloved Battlestar Galactica. In this case, the hybrid featured in the DVD-special "The Plan." I heard her voice when I read your title. Now, as for the image: WOW! This is one of those nicely magnificent and dramatic works that only space (as a genre) can provide. Your work on this is astounding, especially as it only too 40 minutes to complete! It takes me 40 minutes just to decide whether or not I want to work on an image! I love the details in this and the superb sense of drama. This is outstanding.

Minutes before crash..., cool work

I'm having a hard time seeing anything here that doesn't appear true....Your effects ratio over angle degree plus the special effects look correct from where I'm sitting....(smiles)....Awesome Imagery!
