Description
Today is the 'shortest' day, daylight hours that is, for us in the Northern hemisphere so here you see Stonehenge where, as I post this picture, the Druids and others will be at the monument celebrating.
I took this shot earlier this month from a bus window as we passed by, hence the poor quality.

A very draughty celebration ...

This really has to be seen in full size. And I'm impressed by the color, as by those 3 little 'stones'. As if it were the descendants (babies) of the larger stones, the real fathers and mothers, which stand there waiting for them. A great shot, Jeff.

Brilliant pic, Jeff.

Fine drive-by...and yes, I agree...the composition lends a aire of mystery. Just read where a couple of professors have studied "foliated rhyolite" (rock chips) from Stonehenge and matched them to a single rock outcropping in southwestern Wales.

an unusual view of Stonehenge, not embellished, I like it.

nice shot, ya I am so happy because tomorrow the days start turning a little bit longer, not much but at least it is headed in the right direction.

the movement of the ground gives it a magic look here. I read where they think they find the site where these stones was taken from. about 100 miles away. How they got here is a wonder still.

It is still a great shot Jeff. Think of how many billions of people that will not ever get that close. Think about being there thousands of years ago.
