How wonderful surprised I am again. And how special this is to see. I love the bright stamens, how they are like little balerinas in the air. I love the drops and the tenderness of each petal. Thank you, dear Carin, je bent een schat :)! I hope you can understand this Dutch, because it's so similar to the African language. Maybe in your language it is spelled as 'skat' ;-)

This has such amazing colors and textures. I'm always fascinated by the way flower petals have a slightly papery sort of texture...rather like hand-made (and usually, very expensive) paper you can find in places like high-end gift, art, or stationery shops. There's something so wonderfully "old world" in that texture. The colors in this are outstanding...this simply pops...and I could use a bit of pop, since Chicago has entered its gray period! As a birthday dedication, this is superb. It's oozing with such warmth, and that's never a bad thing. It's like the butter spread over warm, delicious bread...there's nothing else like it. Hmmm...why am I always making food references whenever I see flowers? Happy Birthday Mies!
