Description

Dinoraul's Utahraptor. I wanted to put it into the "bird tucked under wing" pose that still survives among today's birds. I had to increase the range of the parameter dial limits, but it worked...more or less. I wanted to pose the tail wrapped around the body, as in the fossil of a related dinosaur found in this position, but Utahraptor apparently had a rigid tail, and probably couldn't assume that pose. Technical, aesthetic, and scientific criticism welcome.

"Cute? CUTE? Those lunch stealing varmints are cute?" - T.Rex. Excellent job. A bit hard to discern the head since it tends to melt in with the rest of the skin, but... that's how it may well have been. The scenery is also very nice, and great night time lighting. Overall, excellent work! Keep it up! :-) (Can't believe nobody's commented yet!)

Thanks. I agree about the head. I tried using Bagginsbill's Envirosphere and IDL. There's a lot I like about it, but it's harder to emphasize certain areas with lighting. Maybe I'll try again with a more conventional light set. Or do it with postwork.
