I'm all the way back in 2011 with this, but I wanted to make a brief comment as part of what I wrote yesterday. This is another in medias res glimpse into a world of process and layered viscera, pre-life forms, miscellany, and so on, all doing their thing as we glimpse, unnoticed by all the lifeforms beneath our gaze. The under-layer appears to be some faces---clearly human---mixed with polygonal warps and other stuff, both geometric and organic. And there's this red cyber-seawed stuff on top, composed of the same time-warp material as the lower layer, and also of webbing, cloud forms, sinews, and extraterrestrial spider webs, present because the spiders couldn't stay away. It's not only fascinating, it's a reddish trove found under a rock in a forest. And I swear there are some state maps in there, or road maps maybe. I've always loved how you take a mix of the most incongruous 'things', and come up with a unified, yet highly diverse tapestry. These are tapestries for the galactic set. (One wishes this were wall sized.) But the journeys between thick and thin, sinewy and geometric, etc, is a big organic colony which, however physically small, seems to have a whole universe going on inside it. A real Mandi piece, in which your inner artistry always is present, no matter how different the ingredients of each piece. That's the artist which, I imagine, guides your physical art as well---where, if you were to do the same things that you do in the digital realm, you'd first have to amass a collection of objects and organic mulches that would cost you a fortune and take up half your attic. Your inner eye is endlessly at work in these pieces, in other words, no matter what objects you portray in each piece...
