Description
In our region the old year is represented by an old lady, so I thought this image was a good one, with a bit of manipulation, to represent the old 2011 fading away into 2012. While this hasn't been a good year for Italy, the future looks bleak. Anyway, I want to be optimistic.

Great image! If it's any consolation, I'm not sure - humanly speaking - that the future looks all that great for ANY nations right now! well I'm late, but before I end today I want to do at least one piece from your earlier work, where there are still many I haven't commented on. This is a wonderful evocation of moving from one realm to the next, and while the outlook for many countries is not bright, you've made the destination a gentle snowy scene almost from an ideal christmas. Even as straight photography, the back image---a storefront? with two windows above, or wall areas?---is fascinating in its own right. And playful cats, and those orbs of light, illuminating that woman out of the darkness. Beautiful & enchanted, and a fine piece of montage, Sandra. I'll be back for more. But as always, beautiful & very thoughtful work...
