Greetings to the people of Earth.
I've always wanted to say that! Now that I did, I can now get on with other things.
I'm a science fiction writer (not famous yet) born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I've lived in the Czech Republic and Germany, and though I am currently back in Chicago, much of my heart remains in the Czech Republic. Maybe it's the beer. Or the bread. I hope to live in Moscow soon, as a big portion of my heart already resides there. I've had an interest in science fiction since an early age and will probably maintain that interest for the rest of my life. I love SF, and anything else that embraces the spirit of discovery...or anything that chafes against the arbitrary boundaries of "conformity."Â
I discovered Renderosity a couple of years back when I was browsing the internet, looking for cool images to spark my imagination during a period of writer's block. It wasn't a serious block, but I needed something to make me ask the sorts of questions that I always ask before settling down to craft a short story or novella. Since that time, I've written quite a lot and I've begun to post photographs and other visual works that I created here...partially because I love the Renderosity community in general, and partially because the images and text-snippets that I have contributed here are something of an ongoing journal. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to journal keeping, and so posting picures of particular significance actually helps me to remember the things I want to remembe, without having to eat into my fiction writing time by writing non fiction. Well, at least that's my excuse and I am sticking with it.
I entered into the field of photography totally by accident; I'd always been interested in capturing small stories, but it wasn't until my journey to Europe that I began to consciously seek out tableaus that imply stories in progress. As a result of that, my writing is growing in unexpected directions, and I look forward to becoming more and more active here, and in other artistic/publishing fields.
For those looking at my gallery, enjoy it and feel free to leave comments and sitemail! Good day to all!

Love it! That serie of street shots is really great, very interesting, almost fascinating. Voyeurism, people watching, in the night...

This reminds me of wandering the streets at night in San Francisco. I can relate to the memories of people walking around, rather in a blank stare, and not really interacting with each other. Wonderful capture. I guess people are the same everywhere.

Superb! A great streetscape.

Having studied this photo, there's a sign above his head that stands out. ...TIMATE EXPOSURE ...NNING CENTERS Makes me wonder about what goes on just around the corner. A little sunning in the buff? Nothing like a good tan to keep up appearances:) Good words to begin a story line. Hope you'll do more with this. And it bagan life as a black & white? Well done. Did you know this is how the earliest color postcards were done? Handtinting...1905ish.

gritty, deep and open shot. Love the "texture" in the mood.

nice work,

I like this addition to your series very much. This one young man is the only constant, the only REAL person in the bunch. Nicely seen, and nicely done! You say there's one more??? :)

I'm a sucker for bright jewel-like colours and this shot has it, no doubt. Including the primary colours that designate the train lines at Belmont Station - red, purple and brown. Maybe it is the season but there is an almost Christmas tree like character to the lights in the scene. An interesting contrast to the live people that mingle on the street and their muted tones. They are not so festive or bright at least on the surface. Interesting the green signal lights being more a moss green. That is not so common in Canada where green signal tends to be a bluish green. The addition of the blue tint is to aid those who can not tell the difference between red and green.

...one is allowed a face only when one stands waiting... This piece of text really registered with me. There is a famous image made by Louis-Jacques Mandé Daguerre in 1839. It is one of the first photographs ever made and shows the Boulevard du Temple completely empty except for a lone figure who was captured while having his boots shined. The idea of slowing down and even stopping so one can become more real is an interesting one. Since I retired I've found this happening to me. I spend more time on things. Relationships are more sincere. Emotions more genuine. Interesting idea. And the image fits your words perfectly. I remember The Belmont Experiment: # 1. Outstanding post work on this.
