Description

Best in full size! This is my entry into Val's contest to celebrate the release of her newest model Danysa. She is a beautiful girl. Thank you Val for hosting this contest, I got to try some different techniques to make winter work (I hope). Someone said she is like a chameleon and I agree in the way she works with light. I have observed that models come in two basic forms in regards to how they behave with light. It is not a quality difference but just a difference. Here we see the two types of models in one set. Nevil is the type of model that keeps his basic shaders intact no matter what the color of light that hits him. These models keep their skin color but reflect what hits them - here it is blue and orange but his rudy skin still blazes through. Danysa is the other type. These models absorb the light that hits them, change their skin tones in response and gently radiate it back. Here you can see how her skin has changed dramatically from her basic pale caucasian and you can see the soft, even glow of the colors as they gently flow from her skin. I did not plan this little lesson but it was fun, and challenging, to have the two types show up in one render! The Lynx is by Lyne and it is available free! It works with the Milenium cat from DAZ.

Gorgeous work, and interesting info on the topic of skin and lighting. I've noticed this too how certain models absorb the light, which is usually what I'm not looking for, but it worked well here, for sure! I think this one will make us all reach a bit deeper on our own projects. :)

So true about the lights! I'm playing with Danysa right now & trying to find the right light for her for the image - lol! How funny you should say that, right as I'm working on that very thing! :D
