Description

I rendered this in Bryce, created a ship model in Doga L3 exported and enhanced the model, then added an ion trail. Background image is of the Leonid meteor shower sourced from an anonymous post on a astronomy usenet NG photographer not designated.

Thanks everyone. Time permitting, I'll see if I can create a detail view. It was the motion integration I was going for here.

Very nice star-warp effect. I've never been successful at one myself. Fine effort!

Thanks GMV^3 and A3DLover. APOD is a good reference and good for some backgrounds. I've not used them for anything I am aware of but I visit there occasionally. I was part of the New Horizons Pluto-Kuiper Belt Mission support in that I helped build the radiation detectors used at launch supplied by AREVA in Albuquerque. It was a fun time. I wish we were still doing that kind of work, but alas certain political parties decided to close the effort down & chased the company out of the country... for no apparent reason.
