You can always hook me with a shot like this...it has a sense of depth...does employ the rule of thirds...has some interesting reflections going on and interesting subject material. It could be sharper...but your PowerShot A520 is the culprit here. Your Nikon will allow you to take a bigger, sharper image under these same circumstances. Ed, are you using "Automatic" settings with your Nikon or are you transitioning to learning to use manual settings? Are you getting out for new pictures? Have you considered joining a photographers "meetup group" in your area?" Just interested in how you are doing.

Bill, the shots that I post from the PowerShot were taken on auto. The Nikon shots are a mixture of automatic, manual or setting the shutter or aperture settings. I originally started out back in the 60,s with a Minolta, which was all manual. I like to try some HDR pictures. I have looked into a camera club in the area, there is one in Littleton, CO which is 15 miles away. Will contact them after the new year. I haven't had a chance to go out and take some pictures here with the Nikon, but plan on doing that next week, as the weather will be clear and warm. Bill, what program do you use to work on your pictures? I have Photoshop Element 9 right now but would like to get Photoshop, but it is pricey. I also want to get Photomatix Pro for HDR photos. I hope this answers your questions. I am really enjoying Renderosity. Thanks for letting me know about this site.

I love small towns in Washington. :) This is such a nice scene! I've forwarded a link to Bill to come back here and see your questions. The best way to reach someone here on RR is via site mail. You can find the icon for site mail in the top right-hand corner of this page (or any RR page) between "Welcome" and "Logout." It's a picture of an envelope. If there's a little yellow and orange star in the corner of the envelope, you have mail! :)
