Description

Number 6 in my Japan-inspired series. When making this it dawned on me that it is about the contrast and convergence of soft and hard aspects. In a man softness is usually seen as a bit circumspect (to say the least). Even today, and that's a universal thing. Just as universally hardness in a woman (at the right moment) is seen as positive: we admire strong women. It's a strange world we live in.

I'm loving this series. Yes, you have hit upon Yin and Yang it is a very powerful reality and I think this scene is a perfect example of that concept. It's a gorgeous and dramatic portrait. Once again your lighting is superb.
