Description
Scanned from a 4X6 Matte finish photo.
My absence since the day after Christmas has been due to my computer monitor having a short coming. There is not a decent place to purchase such things on this isolated stretch of coastline. Was going down to Modesto to pick up a telephoto lens that had gotten repaired and so purchased a new monitor at the same time (12 hr. round trip drive time). Glad to be up and running again!
Although I'm not entirely content with the way the sky turned out in this scan(any input on how to correct with CS5 is welcome). I can not deny the beauty of the Queens castle and garden and so into the gallery it shall be. Not sure if I've mentioned the lower formations are called the garden, beginning at the shades of yellow and ochre and above are the ramparts and castle. From the POV below the rim here one can't distinguish the separation.
Wishing all the best in the coming year!

Thank you so much for this series of photos...I've never seen Bryce Canyon in the winter and I'd like to, it's magnificent. I wish you a very happy New Year.

I think the sky turned out really well. It is a wonderful contrast with the red rock landscape. I have been to Bryce a few times but never in winter. Scenes like this really want to make me go, with the strongly contrasting blue, white and red spooky fantasy landscapes. And thanks to bmac for the great tips.
