Description

With the previous image I said this is a learning series…using one primary light. I did not say it would be sterile. In this image, the idea was to use one light to show a reaction.."enough"...a time when a single word, just the sound of speech regardless of the word is too much more. The set-up is simple: White window shade pulled from a low perch down along a table to create an “infinity curve” background, camera with 100mm F/2.8 lens, tripod and either timer or remote release. The light is a single small tactical flashlight (hand torch), the small but very bright sort used by police. If using a timer, I walk around the table and put the light in various angles and locations to see an effect. When that does not work, another shot and another and another is taken. Ambient light is allowed to play in the room. Future photos in this series will be…who knows really. The next will likely be a simple photo suitable for an advertisement, not a moody one like the first two. These are quick studies and not fine tuned photos.

Very expressive Tom. I'll have to go back and look at your earlier ones in this series. Fun to try new things.
