I thought a full moon from the thumbnail .. but after seeing the full image, I'm going with through a peek hole .. but just what I don't know. Hmmm .. maybe looking through a pipe, like the kind they use for chain link fences, those hollow fence posts? Or a drain pipe of some kind? Too perfect for a drain pipe I think. Frames off the little scene perfectly though!

Hmmm, there's more than one hole and I think there is one below as well as above. I'm going to guess it's one of those formed metal poles kinda like so: -__/- that hold the signs by the side of the road. You'll have to prtend the minus signs are up higher ;)
