...behind the door of the monastery where my Aunt lives,i've played in my childhood often on a stage or whatever we have found in this very old building behind this door,today is it the break room for students... have a nice day and thanks ...at the moment a bit later with comment of your pictures ,i need to work... :)

many years ago I had the pleasure of repairing a set of French doors from a monastery of the 16th century Italy.they were very narrow like these but had no glass outstanding architectural photo

Auch ich verbinde alte Erinnerungen mit einem Kloster. Meine Studienzeit samt Internatszeit verbrachte ich hinter klösterlichen Mauern in Neuzelle bei Frankfurt/Oder. Früher war es ein Kloster, zu DDR Zeiten ein "Institut für Lehrerbildung" und heute ist es wieder in kirchlichem Besitz. In unsere Hörsäale ist man durch die alten Kreuzgänge gekommen. Der Schulgarten war eine alte Orangerie. Um den Klosterteich haben wir Sportwettkämpfe veranstaltet. Dein Bild erinnert mich an alte, knarrende Holztreppen, verwinkelte Gänge, altes Backstein, getünchte Wände, Mosaikfenster.... Danke Susanne

Doors and doorways reveal so much about the architect...while beautiful...I find this door to be a bit intimidating. I wonder if that's what the designer had in mind? Nicely taken.
