Description

Anyone who knows Reading (U.K.) will probably know of Carnival stores. They have had a shop on this spot since 1936. I grew up with them just over the road from my house. They have always been there during my lifetime. Which is what makes this the saddest sight. The business motto was always 'We are only in business for fun'. But now the fun fas gone. It looks so forlorn amd empty now compared with my memories of happy childhood - getting my toys and jokes from this place. Oh well. Thats progress. ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph: 25 Dec 2011

YHopefully you have good memories and perhaps a photo of better times. It must be a blow to the owners to have to shut down.
