--Her last words with the Duke had been most heated, for his arrogance had sent flames to rise and invoke that Irish temper. She could still feel the rough stubble of his cheek as her palm struck him, a deserving reward for his remarks which were unwanted. Though, after a few hours to regain her composure she felt that perhaps even she had been too brash to him. With a titled chin she made her way into his study to offer a truce. The dark rich woods shown slightly from the soft light cast . Elegant crystal chandelier lit with twenty candles cast its glow about the room decorated in scarlet fabric furnishings. A decanter of claret as well as two freshly poured goblets sat awaiting the recipients of such sweetness. A most befitting place, brooding, dark much like the duke himself. That notion caused pink rose kissed lips to turn upwards in a small smile. Long lashes flicked back and forth as her pale blue eyes gazed about until his figure came into view. She stood composed as much a lady of her station would be. Garbed in flowing brocades of crimson and velveteen. Delicate pale hands clasped against another as her eyes targeted his stormy gray ones. Her heart lept as she gazed upon his visage, he held such a way over her that she could not understand, yet at the same time would cause her anger with just a smirk of his mouth. Lips pursed against one another before the melody of her voice echoed across the vast room. " Your Grace, I have taken a moment to reflect and have found that perhaps I was a bit abrupt in my response.. Thus have come to make amends for such actions, should thee find it within thy heart to forgive." Silence filled the room as he watched her with a curious expression. His little lark so brave to walk into the lair .It took only four long strides before she felt the hard sinew of muscles enrobe her in his embrace. His mouth finding quick descent to silence her and in that moment she knew that all was forgiven.-- This is from an actual character of mine I used to write of ,with a very talented group of people back in the day. I have missed those time sorely and when Brynne was created she reminded me so much of my Character Sorcha. I had to do her justice and relive those writing days. My counter part who played the duke was an exceptional writer as well, so it was always a joy when we brainstormed.
