Description

Desolate central Namib desert, with a typical road for Namibia. Namibia has only a little over 2 million inhabitants, but is a huge country; 825,418 km2. As comparison, in the Netherlands we live with 16 million on 41,543 km2 (Namibia is 20 times lager then The Netherlands). In most of the area in Namibia you are alone on the world, a world which you share with wildlife!! Photos (and stitched to one panorama photo) taken in the central part of the Namib desert of Namibia, south of Sossosvlei, with a for Namibia normal road, only a few roads in the country are tar roads. Because Namibia had an extreme high amount of rain in the summer, a lot of green was still present in the winter, quite unusual in the desert. The scenery is also breath taking in this area of Namibia!! We made in May / June 2011 a trip through the southern part of Africa ( RSA, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) .
