Description

Here is an attempt to show the sunlight source in the scene. Not too bad, I think. I first tried for a more icy look by adding a reflective shader - big mistake. 20 + hours into the render and probably 10 more to go and I didn't like the way it looked. So I detached it and cut the render time by a factor of ten. I'm not exactly thrilled with the surfacing but it's OK. Thanks for looking in!

With reflectivity and ray traced checked (while in reflectivity), renders are extremely long - so I learned a few renders ago. Have you tried Luminosity? With an extremely low settings, you might like what you see. I like this composition and he lighting/atmosphere you achieved ...very good work Rich.

I like how you've split the terrain / sky distribution 50-50. The terrain is alien in its own right, but the sky is majestic!!!
