Amitayus. the Buddha of infinite life, grants longevity and is widely worshiped by the followers of Tibetan Buddhism in China. Also revered for his ability to facilitate the attainment of perfect wisdom. A few details about this depiction of "The Buddha Amitayus" China; possibly the city of Chengde (Jehol) Quing dynasty. reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736 - 1795) Statue is lacquered and gilt wood, from The Avery Brundage Collection.
