On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Converging lines. Almost perfect symmetry. If this were looking down, a fear of falling. Yet another old building with amazing outside decorations. 16 stories high? This is a quite thankful motif. Did you have to get out into the street to take the photo? It almost looks like it. You've collected quite a bit of older architecture and decorative motifs. Keep up the good work. :-)

How can you improve on perfection is this absolute stunner, Bill. Fantastic neck-bending POV employed of the perspective, architecture and geometric shapes, running all the way to the sky.

Wow. Love this! The bay windows are so much like the ones in our hotel there. Not surprising ... same architect. :) I'm glad Chip turned us on to this building. It was worth seeing!
hipps13
straight up all the way to the top sure is a cool stare warm hugs, Linda

WOW! How did you get Chicago light to cooperate. By the time you have a chance to see all the way up that beauty, the El tracks decide that they want to cast shadows down near the bottom...but you got everything...And it's all so crisp and complex. The colors are so perfect too. It makes me think of sandstone, but there's no way this could be a sandstone building, one of those cow-pissing-on-a-flat-rock rains would have dissolved it long ago if it was! Oh, and did you notice, the building is wearing a little bit of a halo! Well...it's brighter on top, at any rate...so maybe it's an urban halo. I really like this. The POV really does justice to the building.

What a great view! You're making me dizzy, Bill (even more than I normally am) :-D! This is amazing - just look at all the lovely detail in this building! This is from a time when a building was made to be beautiful as well as functional. Great shot, Bill!
