A closer view of this dragonfly seen in Lesbos in September 2011 : The Violet Dropwing, Trithemis annulata, is a species of dragonfly in family Libellulidae. La Libellule purpurine, dont le nom scientifique est Trithemis annulata est une espèce africaine, qui tend depuis la fin du XXe siècle à coloniser le versant nord de la méditerranée.
